Finished Trilogy Lakes

I finally finished the first draft of my next novel, “Trilogy Lakes.” It had been a long time coming. I’m not sure how to feel about it, excited or relieved? Maybe a little bit of both. But my goal was to write another book. So, it is all good.
I started writing “Trilogy Lakes” while editing “The Riders Club.” I found it challenging to work on both books simultaneously, so I set my new book aside. It was hard to do, and it taught me a lesson. I will never start a writing project again unless I’m sure I have enough time to work on it. To me, writing is the best part. Editing and publishing fall a distant second.
Now, I will start the editing process on “Trilogy Lakes.” I don’t think it will be as tricky as it was with “The Riders Club,” partly because I edited every chapter as I wrote the new book. Possibly to a fault because it slowed me down. But now, that time will reap benefits. Secondly, l learned a lot about editing and publishing last time around.
“Trilogy Lakes” is a sequel to “The Riders Club.” When I wrote “The Riders Club,” I had no intention of writing another, but one of my first readers thought it could be a series, and my editor agreed. I liked the idea, and I’m connected to the characters. I enjoy spending time with them, and I wish I could go riding with them.
The story begins in the Wood River Valley, then eventually moves into the Sawtooth Wilderness. What could go wrong? With these guys, a lot.”
